Protein Discovery, Inc. is a privately held life sciences company that develops, markets and sells innovative sample preparation products for the measurement of proteins. Our products help academic, biotechnology and pharmaceutical scientists advance their protein research and biotherapeutic development by enabling more sensitive, more accurate, and faster analyses. With our deep technical and market expertise, we are uniquely positioned to capitalize on emerging opportunities within the protein research market and deliver high value product solutions to our customers.

Mass spectrometry is a leading technology for bioanalysis applications in molecular research, drug discovery and development, and medical diagnostics. Due to its unparalleled sensitivity and selectivity, mass spectrometry is particularly well suited to the analysis of proteins and peptides, and it is the key enabling technology of modern research proteomics. However, most samples of interest contain proteins that vary in abundance by more than 10 orders of magnitude and exhibit wide structural heterogeneity. This sample complexity limits the sensitivity, reproducibility and throughput of bioanalytical mass spectrometry.

Protein Discovery is focused on developing and commercializing innovative sample preparation technologies that enable more sensitive, more accurate, and faster protein and peptide analysis using mass spectrometry. PPS Silent® Surfactant is a patented detergent that replaces conventional protein extraction and solubilization detergents that either interfere with mass spectrometry or cause other problems in use at the lab bench. The Gelfree™ 8100 Fractionation System is a patent-pending system that provides molecular weight-based fractionation of intact proteins with liquid phase recovery. And the Passport® 1200 Sample Prep System provides enrichment of low molecular weight proteins and peptides for high-throughput quantification applications. Protein Discovery’s innovative sample preparation solutions unlock the power of mass spectrometry for protein and peptide analysis.
