Protein Discovery Inc. Adds Sales and Marketing VP to Executive Staff

Knoxville, Tennessee, June 30, 2005—Protein Discovery, Inc., a privately held life sciences company, has hired Andrea Mravca to the new position of sales and marketing vice president. Ms Mravca will be responsible for establishing distribution channels, determining product positioning, and leading business development efforts.

Ms Mravca was director of U.S. sales at Molecular Devices Corporation (NASDAQ: MDCC) until 1998, where she led the sales force through the company’s highly successful initial public offering and recorded sales growth at a 6-fold multiple of market growth. After leaving Molecular Devices, she provided executive sales and marketing services to a roster of biotech and bioinformatics companies that included Chemdex, Caliper, Argonaut and Aclara.
